Financial Accountant (m/f/d)
We usually respond within two weeks
About the role
We're looking for a full-time Financial Accountant who's far more than a transactional operator: someone with strong accounting fundamentals and a genuine passion for automation, clean processes, and turning data into actionable insights.
Korial is scaling fast — Series A closed, blue-chip customers across the energy and industrial sectors, and a finance function that needs to keep pace.
You'll be the operational core of our finance function, working directly with our VP Finance and partnering with Operations, Go-to-Market, and Engineering. If you love environments where you can build, improve, and own — not just execute — you'll thrive here.
This role is available part-time or full-time, with a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Your tasks
Own accounts payable and receivable end-to-end: invoice verification, posting, payment runs, and reconciliation and drive the implementation of automation tools to streamline workflows
Maintain accurate general ledger records and lead monthly and annual closing procedures (HGB), coordinating closely with our tax advisor
Support cost center accounting and contribute to management reporting that gives leadership real commercial visibility
Identify and drive automation opportunities across the finance stack — you'll have both the mandate and the tools to make it happen
Manage and continuously improve our finance tech stack (currently DATEV, with ambition to evolve)
Document, refine and strengthen internal control processes as we scale
Provide clean, timely financial data to support commercial decision making — ARR movements, deferred revenue, cost analysis
Oversee contract management including documentation, renewal tracking and compliance
Manage supplier relationships including onboarding, master data, SLA and pricing oversight
Own the fixed asset lifecycle, including capitalization and documentation
Your profile
Several years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in a B2B SaaS or high-growth tech environment
Solid HGB knowledge and confident working within German accounting standards
Proficient in DATEV and confident across digital finance tools — you're not just a user, you're someone who thinks about how the tools should work together
A systems thinker who identifies process inefficiencies and fixes them rather than working around them
Commercially curious - you care why the numbers look the way they do, not just that they balance
A self-starter who's comfortable with ambiguity and takes ownership
Genuinely passionate about automation, scalability and removing manual work from finance
Business fluent in German with solid working English skills
Helpful additional qualifications
Experience with Spendesk, Payhawk, or similar spend management tools
Familiarity with SaaS revenue recognition concepts (deferred revenue, ARR, NRR)
Exposure to ERP selection or implementation in a scaling business
Experience working cross-functionally in a product or engineering-led company
